Day 16

LISTENING PRAYER

Listening prayer is a form of prayer where the believer takes time to listen for God’s voice or guidance, rather than just speaking or asking for something. It is a way of being still and receptive to God's presence, allowing Him to speak to the heart of the individual. Listening prayer is grounded in the understanding that prayer is a two-way conversation, where not only do we express our thoughts, needs, and praises to God, but we also make space for God to communicate with us. Listening Prayer allows God to set the agenda for prayer and for us to respond to the word given.

Pray the following prayer (or something similar) and just practice listening to what God wants to speak or bring to your mind.

"Lord, I come before You in silence, seeking Your presence. I quiet my heart and mind, and I ask that You speak to me today. Holy Spirit, help me to discern Your voice. As I meditate on Your Word, open my ears to hear the truth You want to reveal to me. I trust that You are here with me and will guide me in the direction You desire."
